By default, joomla shows one leading article for intro articles in two columns with four links at the bottom and we can override this right here. We'll do that in just a moment, but click on blog layout. If I click on category, I can override all of the global settings that I've already done. I have the ability here to do a lot of things with this blog layout. Menus, Joomla ville attractions and click on attractions. If I come back over to my administration screen and go back to the Joomla Ville attractions menu, go ahead and do that. But this is a blog layout and it's really powerful. Again, this is what's called the intro text and we haven't actually added read mores yet. It's a blog layout of all of the articles in the attractions category, with one published in its entirety at the top and two more side-by-side or in two columns. This time, however, when I click on it, it's not each individual article. Now I know it's going to show up in the left hand side but that's ok. Select the menu joomla ville attractions and, once again, choose the right, middle or position 8. Let's just call this Joomla ville attractions. Head over to extensions, modules and click new. Because this is a new menu, we need a new module. Well, you remember from the cash workflow the show step is add a new menu or, if you already have the menu, add the new item and then show it using a module. We'll come back to that in just a moment. Change choose a category to attractions and, for now, simply just click Save and close. Now a category blog is a kind of layout that takes all the articles from a particular category, and its subcategories if we choose, and displays them in a layout of our design. Click on select and, instead of clicking on a single article type, go ahead and click on articles. Click new and we're just going to call this attractions. Go ahead and click on the little 0 here and that takes us into the menu items for Joomla Villa attractions. Now remember, we're making a new menu here that contains menu items. You can put a description in if you want. Let's call this Joomla ville attractions and, for the menu type, we'll just call it attractions. Go ahead back into your menu manager and click on add new menu. The next menu I want to show you is the category blog. So we've talked about how to add menu items for individual articles. However, getting used to the simplistic user interface is a challenge because you have to learn to keep each node and branch rather short in length, in order to avoid confusion. It has a great arsenal of features that make it incredibly easy to map your thoughts out visually. Overall I think MindNode is a fantastic organization tool. The only way to get around this is by keeping your node and branch titles very simple The core problem is with the user interface as it isn’t built to display multiple lines of text for nodes and branches. This is unfortunate because a true mind mapping application should be able to handle a lot of information at once. The major issue with MindNode is that adding a lot of information to a single node can make the display rather confusing. Combines all your nodes together with connections and branches and you have yourself a nice mind map. You can add branches, make new connections, drag and drop nodes, and even highlight them all with just a click of a button. MindNode does a great job of putting your cursor in charge of all the action. What’s great about MindNode is that you have infinite space on your canvas, allowing you to make as many maps or connections as you want. Once you have created nodes, you can then connect them if they are in any way related. You can also spice the nodes up by adding links and images to help you understand what it is you’re really thinking about. Each node has branches coming off of it that will go into more detail about your thought. A node is a primary branch of what you’re thinking about, like todo lists or work projects. MindNode makes it very easy to create new nodes, or ideas. While MindNode does a great job of this, it unfortunately can be a bit confusing to use at times. The idea behind it is that seeing your ideas in an organized, visual representation will help you get things done and understand them better. For those of you who aren’t familiar with what a mind application does, it essentially maps everything that is going on inside your head. MindNode is a great mind mapping application for your Mac. Keep this in mind when you buy antiques, or opt for new glassware with a retro design. While antique and vintage glassware is a beautiful addition to a home bar, many older pieces were made with lead oxide (this added a reflective sheen to the exterior of the glasses). Each glass comes in an elegant burgundy and silver box, making it a go-to gift. This design, a result of nine years of tastings and studies, also points out any potential flaws within the liquid. This opening is designed to amplify the aromas and flavor characters of the spirit, like the delicate flavors of Japanese whisky, while avoiding the nose-numbing, overpowering ethanol scent. The glass holds 4 ounces and is wider than the traditional tasting glass. The heavier weight of the glass-similar to what you’d get from antique crystal-is also a nice touch. Many of the world’s top tasting competitions use this Neat Glass option as their standard tasting glass, and with good reason: Each glass is thoughtfully mouth-blown from lead-free crystal. Goodfellow recommends adding a bit of room temperature water to the Glencairn glass to help open up the spirit. The shape is meant to enhance the aromas of fine whisk(e)y, and I find it does that job well.” Kristen Voisey, the owner of Cocktail Emporium and the brand’s glassware designer, agrees: “This is the standard tasting glass used at most distilleries. “You can see the spirits well-the glass tapers towards the top to concentrate the smell when you nose it, and the stem removes any unintentional heat to the spirit.” “The ideal glass, so I've been told by many whisk(e)y distillers, for tasting is a stemmed glass that has a wider base than the nose, like ISO or Cordial glass,” explains Goodfellow. Each 6-ounce glass is designed to show off the color and the aroma of the spirit. These Glencairn glasses are beloved by whiskey drinkers as they concentrate the aromas-something a rocks glass does not. “A Glencairn glass really lets you fully appreciate the notes you get on the nose and the layering of the flavors.” Personalized Whisky Glass With Stones & Custom Wood Box."I'm quite stuck on the traditional Glencairn glass,” describes Nicole Ross, the head bartender of New York City's The Chester. As Tim Keller explained, “The heart is not just the seat of the emotions but also the source of our fundamental commitments, hopes, and trust. The Bible does not distinguish between the head and the heart, combining the elements of mind, will, and emotions together with the language of an organ that can feel, think, and act. In our culture today, we tend to think of the heart as the home of our emotions, sending chalky-tasting heart-shaped candies to one another to express our love and affection, but the biblical concept of the heart is broader than the emotions. Jesus summarizes His higher standard by stating, “ The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks” ( Luke 6:45). Jesus expands the requirements of the Law from expecting good behavior to transforming us into His people by responding to His words with action. Jesus describes what it looks like to be His disciple, raising the bar of the Law from “ Do good to those who do good to you” ( Luke 6:33) to “ Love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return” ( Luke 6:35). In Luke 6, a great crowd is gathered before Jesus, seeking to hear him and be healed. We are told to think before we speak, but when we don’t remember to do this, where are these words coming from? Why in moments of strong emotion, anger, or pain, do our words tear down and not edify and what can we do about it? How Does the Mouth Speak Out of the Abundance of the Heart? It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison” ( James 3:7-8, ESV). Have you ever said something hurtful or unkind and wondered, “Where did that come from?” Have words left your lips and even as they exit you regret their expression and wish to retract them? James acknowledged the deadly impact of the tongue when he said, “… No human being can tame the tongue. " The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks." ( Luke 6:45, ESV) If you are, I definitely recommend this game. You need to be an HO fan and be in an HO mood. It's an extremely fun thing to do! No, this game is not for everyone. So afterwards, you're left with a thoroughly bare room. Just as in The Lost Tomb, you can clear each hidden object scene completely (when you find an item, the word is crossed off and another pops up in its place). One is Unlimited Match 3 and the other is Unlimited Hidden Objects. Find 50 locks in those 25 areas and you open up 2 Bonus Games. There are 25 scenes that you repeatedly visit but there are so many items in each, you're always looking for something different. The game is just many HO scenes with puzzles here and there (jigsaw, memory tiles, match 3, and word search). There's no scare factor - you're just searching for items that will help you leave. There's no story other than "escape the island". I wouldn't say there's anything remarkable about the game. I didn't REALLY need to buy it on Steam but I wanted it with my "steam HO set" and also wanted an excuse to play it again. Such is Escape Rosecliff Island but I prefer this game over all the rest. Actually, there are quite a few Popcap games that are pretty much just pure HO scenes with little to no story. – The New York Fortune, Escape the Museum, and Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst. This game has a lot in common with the other I just reviewed, Amazing Adventures: The Lost Tomb. If you liked this game, check out Mystery P.I. While it’s a good (and good-looking) puzzler, even if we didn’t catch the similarities between this game and past SpinTop titles, it doesn’t really offer anything unique to the overcrowded genre. Truthfully, because of its shortcomings, Escape Rosecliff Island doesn’t deserve the kudos we lavish on other HOG developers. game pay the same for Escape Rosecliff Island when it has recycled parts? Should a player who spent money on a Mystery P.I. Really, this is just plain lazy on the developer’s part. – The New York Fortune and saw the same artwork in both games (identical items), as well as similar mini-games (match-3, jigsaw, word search, tile-swap, and so on), two hidden objects per level (apple and key instead of padlocks) and heard the same sound effects. Secondly, many keen gamers have noticed Escape Rosecliff Island bares close resemblance to SpinTop’s Mystery P.I. This happened a few times, which proved frustrating. Elsewhere on the level was a bust of a man. For one, some of the items are confusing, such as when hunting for a "statue," I clicked on a stone animal - but it was wrong. These are quite good and serve as a pleasant diversion between the main game-play elements.Įven still, this game has its flaws. Sometimes the word is a clue instead of the item, such as "bamboo eater" instead of "panda."įind the two padlocks hidden in each scene (or the word "lock") and you can unlock two additional game modes accessible from the main menu: Unlimited Seek & Find (totaling 2,100 items to find!) and a Mystery Bonus Game (and no, we won’t ruin the surprise for you by telling you what it is).Īfter every few levels or so, players will collect special inventory items from each location to help you inch towards your goals, as well as gaining access to mini-games, such as a match-3 puzzler (a la Bejeweled), sliding-tile jigsaw puzzles, word search, memory games and more. Players will also be asked to combine some items, such as putting eggs into a nest, framing a picture or placing an arrow onto a sign. In some instances, the items are relevant to the scene – like a garden gnome on a lawn – while in most cases they’re not, like a scale on a beach. Gamers will have about 20 minutes to complete each of the 25 locations and can ask for a hint or two if stuck. The core game-play should be familiar to HOG fans: gamers will be presented with a busy indoor or outdoor scene (porch, boathouse, gazebo, cellar, kitchen, etc.) and a number of items to find will be listed at the bottom of the screen, such as a trophy, muffin, wire cutters, brass instrument, and so on. If you don’t mind a recycled experience, that is.Īfter a nasty storm you find yourself shipwrecked on a remote island, and so you must visit various locations, solve puzzles and find items you need to help get you off. SpinTop Games’ just-launched Escape Rosecliff Island doesn’t mess with the formula much – in fact, some may argue it has delivered virtually the same game as one of its predecessors (read on) – but still proves to be a fun object-hunting game with atmospheric graphics and enjoyable mini-games. Played one "HOG" – or "hidden object game" – and you’ve played them all? That depends, as some game makers attempt to add a few twists to the popular casual game genre in order to keep things fresh and fun. The meca-penguin I'll use in the next segment and gas will be needed throughout the game. I actually have to hit the poor man in when I follow the rabibunnies (or the other way around), otherwise he'll be in the way in the staircase. I have a little accident with the stairs and you can now all see the horror of walls and ladders. After that an even worse one comes with the guard in the ditch and timing it so that he won't fire back at you. The start of principal landing is pretty hard with the blind shot you have to do while being shot at. But when compared to a perfect run of this part the difference isn't really significant. This is of course why I go into normal mode a couple of times here. Running is a horrible way to move boxes you are just as likely to move them two steps as one with a quick push of the button. The boxes have to be placed exact, one push to much and you probably have to redo the whole puzzleģ. If you hit the walls in the game when running you'll get hurt, staggering and losing time.Ģ. The puzzle wouldn't be that hard if it wasn't for three things.ġ. This is one of the really horrible parts of the game to speed run. In my house there isn't really anything I can do, just get in position to get my nice robe and I'm off to the docks. I'm not really sure they wanted you to get it this early since the quest for it comes later and they send a yellow grobo after you (which you can't kill at this point). I'll need a lot of those later.Īfter this I'm going straight for the syrup. I do stop at the house to get the kashes. You are supposed to hide inside the garbage truck, but that takes too long time, I time the window with the open gate and run for it instead, as long as the truck misses you there is no problem with that. I also skip to get Twinsen's ID and the holo-map, it's not like I'd forget where I'm heading. I don't really need the small amount of cashes the enemies drop so I skip those. It is clearly faster to jump off the lift in the beginning and run to the guards. This is very useful since the animations for landing and taking damage can be avoided thus saving many a second in the game. In the there is one glitch I use frequently - Changing behavior causes the current animation to stop. A horrible process! And for some reason some times the inventory doesn't reset the position between tries, confusing me enough to make really bad mistakes! And yes I've realized it's insane to use this long segments! I get around this by copying the save-file at the segments end and then copy that one back at every re-try. I cant myself decide where to save and there's only one savefile. One thing that you should know is the game uses auto-saves. I'm playing with the XP-patch (which you can get at ) without the new options(which sadly shows Twinsen doesn't really like ladders) so nothing is changed from the original that I played so long ago. Seeing the second game in progress and seeing a demand for the game I felt a deep need to be the one to do it and this is the result. This is one of my very first games for PC and I remember being amazed by the graphics and plot and I played it over and over again until I got stuck into RPGs for a long long time. I tend to write really much when given the chance and so I'll try to keep the beginning down and give more details later. Available in three versions: low/normal quality DivX, and high quality H.264 MPEG-4. Speed run of Little Big Adventure in 6 segments, completed on July 14 2006. |
